About Dr. Shankar R. Kurpad

Dr. Shankar R. Kurpad is a skilled orthopedic surgeon with 29 years of medical experience, including 24 years as a specialist. He graduated with an MBBS from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, in 1996, followed by a Diploma in Orthopedics from Christian Medical College, Vellore, in 2000. He further earned his DNB in Orthopedics in 2004. Dr. Shankar has also pursued advanced training internationally, completing fellowships in Traumatology in Munich (2002) and Hip Replacement & Reconstruction in Dresden (2006).

In 2001, he joined the practice of Dr. K. Srinivasan as a Senior Registrar and now serves as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and partner in the group practice. Dr. Shankar specializes in hip and knee joint replacements, complex fractures, deformity correction, and general orthopedic problems.
